At first I just wanted to share love, joy and compassion amongst my loyal readers and participants.

As you know I am a sucker for modelling and learning the strategies and mindsets of exceptional speakers.

Modelling this gentleman not only helped me earned trophies when competing, it even helped put food on the table!

There is something about the way Tony uses his body that really sets him apart and till this day, there isn’t someone who can deliver the way he does… (It’ll take me a while more to nail it… heh…)

I just came across this video in Youtube that I felt I need to spread the word on.

Personally, I’ve been blessed with the gift of language and have always been able to depend on it for income and getting my way.

You now have the opportunity to use your ability of words to make a difference.

On December 5th, Jim Rohn Passed away.

Although I never got to shake his hand personally, I did see him “live” in a congress before.

I didn’t realise how much he impacted my life until I heard of his passing.

Well, since i never got a chance to say thank you to him, I wanna show my gratitude in this blog.

It was 2004 that my eyes were “opened” for the first time. If you know what I mean.

No more bumming around. No more thinking and playing small.

I went to a 3000 people congress for the first time to listen to this man, Jim Rohn, speak about personal development!

Here was this old man, who had literally 3 strands of hair left at the side of his head, speaking with a voice with all the gusto and charisma of a 30 yr old Fortune 50 CEO.

He used this HUMONGOUS white board to “write” all his notes to us. I say “write”… because if you saw it, you would have thought it was scary cult inscriptions… It was super messy!

But every word and diagram on it was a gem!

Jim Rohn is the MASTER of sound bites.

The way he used his mentor to borrow credibility and enhance humility in his teachings is legendary. Listen to his seminar above to know what I am talking about.

Anyway, back to the board.

We went for  a lunch break, all 3000 of us….

and when we came back for part 2 of the seminar, Rohn stood at his whiteboard. Stunned.

Everything was gone. Gone. You’ve never seen a whiter board.

This consumate gentleman simply said:

Hey…. where did eve… oh well, lemme just start again….

And I shit you not…

He reproduced every stroke of the “inscriptions” on the board in mere seconds!

At the exact same spots of the HUMONGOUS board!

Those were not random messy notes! Those were his notes! Oh yea… And did I mention the board was humongous?

This man was a MASTER of soundbites.

If you are a student of speaking and influence, you needa own somathese.

If you come to mine, you would DEFINITELY be able to complete this sentence:

“Repetition is the _____________”

Not an accident.

Jim Rohn taught me the value of that.

I borrowed the phrase from Johnny Wimbery, another top moolah earning speaker.

It was Rohn that taught me:

“Profits are better than wages.”

‘Work harder on yourself than you do on your job.”

“Things don’t cost too much… you just can’t afford it.’

“Isn’t it true that people in your same organization is paid 10, 50, 100 times more than you? It’s not what the company pays…. it’s what the company pays YOU.”

It was then I knew the meaning of Personal development.

I love listening to his CDs when I am baby sitting Luther.

I just get kicked in the ass with a size 15 Caterpillar boot. I need that. I do procrastinate. But you already know that don’t you.

RIP Mr Rohn. Your legacy lives on. My son will teach his son what you’ve taught me.
