How to Elegantly Transit From Content To Your Pitch
I bet you can’t tell me… the fastest, easiest and most
effective method to turn your audience into money for you.
Well, you have your audience, you’ve spoken about your topic
and now it is time to turn all that effort into money for
you.
For most people, they are going to stutter and splat. When
you have no clear process that works, you are going to be
nervous… and rightfully so.
Having an audience in front of you while you fumble in
selling your product or service is like doing a stand up
comedy with ZERO laughter – for 120mins straight.
Yes, time distorts when you are dying on stage. I know that
from personal experience…
In this article, I am going to share with you an elegant
method to transit from content to selling, without leaving a
sour taste in your audience’s mouth.
Guaranteed.
The first thing you have to do is to deliver super kick-ass
content.
They must be absolutely enthralled by you and what you’ve
shared.
This is where you must do your homework.
Find all the case studies, statistics, neat tips and tricks
that make them go, “Wow, I wished I knew that earlier!”
They must have the thought that you are an expert in what
you are sharing, or at least have far more passion in that
topic than them.
This is to lay the ground work to entice them to learn even
more.
The fact is, your free training cannot be a day long. And it’s
impossible to share everything you know in just 2 hrs.
You have only promised that you will help them master this
small area, but that is just a piece to the puzzle. Without
the other pieces, the picture will not be complete.
You want your audience to feel incomplete without getting
more from you. Is it unethical?
Well, if you can teach everything in the 2 hours you have
with them, then it is unethical for you to say you are an
expert at this topic.
How can you touch your conscience and say you can impart
years of knowledge and experience in a matter of minutes?
If you realise by now, it is very ethical to tell them you
commit to teach them _____ in depth so at the end of 2
hours, they will be able to ______.
Then let them know there is logically more to it than what
you can cover in 2 hours.
Here is the crucial second step: Let them know why you’ve
created a further training / seminar / talk / 1-1 coaching
They must know beyond a shadow of doubt why you are
promoting your paid training / talk, or they will resist
your pitch.
This is the difference between a salesman pissing everyone
off, and a passionate teacher who just wants to share more
knowledge.
If the “monk” in you is resisting asking money in exchange of
specialised knowledge, then you NEED therapy.
But seriously, some of my participants do have a negative
attachment to money and feel really guilty about exchanging
money for knowledge (though they have no qualms exchanging
their time in office playing “mouse hunt” and chatting with
colleagues for a salary – go figure).
Here is what I teach them to say.
“I wished I could do all this for free because I am not
comfortable selling, but the fact is creating all this
information and training requires money. Which is why the
investment I request in exchange is this affordable”
That would help your audience be less confused as to why you
looked so awkard pitching your “ultimate-value-for-money”
product / service when all they want is to know how quickly
can you sign them up!

So there you have it. Just follow the process and you will
be making money left-right-centre after your talk. Trust me.
You might want to ask a friend to come along with you to
collect the payment from eager clients, especially if you
have limited supply of units/seats/time for your
product/service.
I made that rookie mistake once. Let someone handle the
money while you continue to answer their pressing questions
about your product/service.
You are probably skeptical, I know.
Even my millionaire clients can’t believe they can create a
buying frenzy. But I love it when you don’t believe me yet.
Because once you test this out, and the frenzy happens,
you’ll look for me for more kick-ass tips.
That feeling is addictive!
Some will read this and go… “yeah right… that’s not
gonna happen to me…”
But I found successful people (I’ve worked with many
millionaires) not only have the open mind to learn from
others experience, they are also brave to implement!
I wonder which decision you’ll take now.
Actions that will bring you closer to what you want?
Or actions that bring you further from what you want?
